Many incidents happen on the way down—scree, fatigue, slips. Poles, knee support, slower pace help. Don’t sprint for a bus time you might miss.

How do I book Yoshida buses?
Senpai (experienced climber)

Use official operators (e.g. Fujikyu) for 5th-station ↔ Kawaguchiko schedules. Peak season: book round trips and times early. Re-check official Fuji climbing transport notices before you go.

Summary

Descent safety & pace

  • Higher risk of slips, knees, ankles
  • Poles, shorter steps, regular breaks
  • Watch sleepiness and cold after a hut night
  • Don’t rush descent only for a bus
  • Illness or storms—descend early (Episode 8)

Yoshida transport (example)

  • Fujikyu buses etc.: Kawaguchiko ↔ 5th station—confirm on official sites
  • Late July–August: book early
  • Road / bus restrictions during the season—official updates

  • Reservation / first-come / fees vary yearly
  • Expect Sunday afternoon congestion

  • Water, snacks, dry layer for AC on buses
  • Pack out trash
  • Agree a meeting point with your group
  • Injury or illness—don’t force travel; call for help if needed
